Rapid route to support for immediate parent concerns:
The Parent Consultation is an alternative to ongoing therapy, for urgent advice and support with a specific concern around your child's mental health, behaviour, or with a parenting issue. This single-session, solution-focused appointment with a Clinical Child Psychologist is arranged quickly and flexibly.
We understand that it is not easy to access specialist mental health professionals when you are worried about your child. Sometimes all you want is to speak to someone right away who can listen to your concerns and give you immediate expert guidance, signposting and practical tips. Searching for solutions online can add to your confusion; meeting with a trusted professional gives clarity.
The types of queries we typically support include:
Behaviour problems - What can I do to manage my child's tantrums, aggression and non-compliance?
Emotional issues - How can I help my child with mild anxiety or low mood? How do I know when to seek therapy for my child?
Neurodivergence - How can I get an assessment if I think my child has ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder) or ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder)?; How can I change my parenting to help my child who has ADHD or ASD?
Developmental issues - How can I help my child with their sleep, toileting or eating? When should I seek an assessment?
To book a session contact us requesting 'Parent Consultation' and we will respond within 48 hours.
*The session will be booked at your convenience, and we aim to offer a date within 3 days of you contacting us.
Following your session we will provide you with a written summary of the session with recommendations of next steps.
NOTE: We do not provide a crisis care. If you have immediate concerns that your child is at risk of harm to themselves or others, or if they are in a mental health crisis, please refer to the helpline support details shown in the 'In an Emergency' section here.
